# College Degree Logic Puzzle Walkthrough

(Back to puzzle)

.) You start with Mathew telling you that the other corners are bachelors. So you know that Warren, Allen, and Angela are bachelors.

.) According to Angela, no one in row two is a doctor. According to Allen, Kelly has a higher education than Warren. So Kelly must be a master

.) According to Allen, Tyler has a lower education than a bachelor’s degree. According to Kelly, Steve is not adjacent to any male associate. So Tyler cannot be an associate; therefore he must have no degree.

.) According to Warren, every doctor is adjacent to at least one of all 5 options. According to Tyler, the second column has one doctor, either Tony or Rachel. If it is Tony, then Dana must be a master, and that would mean that Tony could not be adjacent to one of every education level, being adjacent to two masters but only five cells. Therefore the doctor in the second column must be Rachel, and once you know that, you can fill in the whole column.

.) According to Angela, Kelly must be adjacent to a male doctor. Mady says that Bryan is not a doctor, so Isaac must be a doctor.

.) Isaac must be adjacent to one person of every education level, so Jenna and Abigail must be doctor and bachelor. No one in the second row can be a doctor according to Angela, so Jenna is a doctor and Abigail is a bachelor.

.) Jenna must also be adjacent to one person of every education level, so Emily must be an associate.

.) According to Abigail, only one row has no master. That row is clearly the top row. Since the bottom row must have at least one master, it must be Timothy, because if Audrey were a master, Rachel would not meet Warren’s requirement of doctors being adjacent to at least one person of every level.

.) Of the three empty cells adjacent to Rachel, one of them must be a doctor. Neither Amber nor Audrey can be adjacent to at least one person of every level, so Adam must be a doctor.

.) According to Timothy, if Audrey earned no degree, Bryan and Steve are bachelor and associate. But if Audrey earned no degree, it would also force Amber to be an associate, since Rachel must be adjacent to one of every level. If Amber is an associate, Patrick would have to have no degree, according to Adam. And if Adam has no degree and Bryan and Steve are bachelor and associate, that row would have no master, which contradicts Abigail. The conclusion is that Audrey does have a degree, so she must be an associate and Amber must have no degree.

.) If Audrey is an associate, according to Adam, she must be next to someone with no degree, so Nancy must have no degree.

.) Nancy tells you that everyone who earned no degree is already on the board. Kelly tells you that Percy is not an associate. Linda tells you that Percy is not a master. Percy cannot be a doctor because he cannot be adjacent to one person of every level; therefore Percy must be a bachelor.

.) Percy tells you that only one four-letter name is adjacent to multiple bachelors. That person is clearly Dana, meaning that Tony, Mady, and Adam can only be adjacent to one bachelor. This means that Megan is not a bachelor. According to Nancy she does have a degree, but according to Angela she is not a doctor. This leaves associate and master. If she were a master, Patrick would have to be a doctor according to Angela, but Patrick could only be a doctor if Megan were also a doctor, which she cannot be. So Megan must be an associate.

.) According to Megan, there is one person with no degree who is adjacent to more bachelors than any other person with no degree. We know that Amber, Nancy, and Tyler are adjacent to two and could be adjacent to three. No one can be adjacent to four because Bryan is not a bachelor according to Percy. If either Tyler or Nancy is adjacent to three bachelors, the third is Steve, but that would make both of them adjacent to three bachelors. Megan indicates that there is only one person with no degree who is adjacent to the most bachelors. Therefore the Patrick must be a bachelor. Also, if Steve is not a bachelor, according to Angela he must be a doctor or master. According to Warren, he cannot be a doctor, so he is a master.

.) Bryan cannot be a doctor according to Mady. he cannot be a master according to Steve. He cannot be a bachelor according to Percy. He does have a degree according to Nancy. Therefore he is an associate.
